Nice try, Psycho
So SD9 was just talking to Crazy on the phone up in her room, and I happened to overhear about 3 minutes of the conversation. And by “happened to overhear”, I mean I snuck up to the top of the stairs like a stalker so I could listen to the convo since SD FaceTimes Crazy. But that’s neither here nor there. This was the convo in the 3 MINUTES I listened:
SD: We should get rid of our cat and get 2 fish.
Crazy: No, fish smell. Ask your dad to get fish.
SD: No, he won’t.
Crazy: I know. Tell Step-girlfriend to get rid of the 2 cats that she stole and get fish.
SD: She didn’t steal them! Their mom abandoned them!
*Backstory, a few years ago I was out walking in our town and saw the worlds cutest kittens playing in front of a closed-down business, on a busy street. They were wild so I couldn’t pet them, but I was worried about them getting hit by a car, and called the cops, the humane society, and the actual business. The business owner said the cats were feral and every year the same mom had a litter and they all ended up dead in one way or another, and that Their neighbor actually was trying to poison them. And that they were wild and i would never catch them, but I could try if I wanted. Challenge accepted. No way were those kittens dying on my watch. So when I got home from my walk I rounded up the skids, a baggie of rotisserie chicken, a laundry basket, and told them we were going on a mission. Off we went to successfully capture the aforementioned kittens, who literally became tame overnight and are snuggling with me as I type this.
Crazy: Their mom didn’t abandon them, Step-girlfriend didn’t know anything about them, then she stole them.
SD: Whatever, no she didn’t. Anyway, where did you go to church tonight?
Crazy: Step-girlfriend doesn’t go to church, I hear she just sleeps while you guys go to church.
SD: Who told you that? She doesn’t sleep, she has things to do
Crazy: oh like what? What’s more important than God and going to church?
SD: She’s busy, she goes to the gym and other things.
Crazy: So the gym is more important than God? Anyway, you only go to that religious school because your dad and his family only care about how it looks, it’s all a big fake act (this is the point where I seriously considered turning off the WiFi router because I had had enough)
SD (in a slightly argumentative, defensive voice): Well you’re going to learn about Buddha at this Church you’re going to, you should be going to our Church.
Crazy: I don’t trust the pastors at the church you go to.
She then spent the next minute bashing skids church/school, then defending herself when SD told her that was crazy, and getting annoyed at SD for turning things around on her.
Ha! I think it’s hilarious how SD defends me every single time, but Crazy still just spends all of her time talking shit. How on earth are these kids not completely PAS’d out?? This was just in 3 minutes, I can’t imagine how much time she she must spend on it! Thankfully they have sense and seem to have gotten really good at ignoring her and shaking it off, but I feel bad for them that so much of their time is spent with her teaching them to hate, and them having to defend people they love. Good grief you psychopath, get a hobby. Obviously going to church doesn’t automatically make you a good person.

Your boyfriend must think you
Your boyfriend must think you two are a riot....
I'm sensing sarcasm, but
I'm sensing sarcasm, but either way, he absolutely does.
Isn't it amusing when the BM
Isn't it amusing when the BM is clearly so bitter and jealous. BM2 does this as well. Not quite as bad and direct but all I hear throughout the call is "Is your dad home?" "Is Cookies home?" "What's your dad doing?" "What's Cookies doing?" "Are they together...what are they doing together?". Okay how about ask what your son is doing and what he's interested in and mind ya business!
I am so proud your SD9, she
I am so proud your SD9, she is keeping a level head and that is so hard to do as a child/teen or even adult when one of the people that you are supposed to be able to trust without questions is causing so much harm.
Maybe it is time that you guys regulate converstaions with BM to be in main living spaces not in her bedroom. It might keep psycho in check if she sees you walking around the house in the background.
JMTB, I like this idea! It
JMTB, I like this idea! It worries me that she's up in her room and has to listen to this in OUR house. I do think a rule where she has to talk in common spaces would slow Crazy's roll a bit. As long as I can convince my SO to actually make that rule.
Wow...just wow.
Wow...just wow.
BM here does teach the kids that nonchristians are bad people (unfortunately so does my MIL) but sadly the kids don't see through her facade that she is no model citizen.
Your SD is making me really
Your SD is making me really happy right now... The skids don't say anything bad about me, they're annoyed with Psycho, but they don't speak like that... Of course Psycho would probably punish and scream and yell and use the belt... But that's besides the point... Plus they NEVER have contact with ever except like 1/2 of the days that they're supposedly supposed to be visiting her for like a few hours....
Yeah, as frustrated as I can
As frustrated as I can get with SD, she is pretty great. I mean, standing up to her own mom, plus how she then turns it around so Crazy ends up being the one defending herself, every time... I really am proud of her. There are many days SD doesn't call Crazy, and that is for the best IMO. The CO says one phone call a day, but it's nice when she doesn't actually use it. Your SD's BM is useless, it's probably for the best she doesn't have much contact....
LOL. True that on useless.
LOL. True that on useless. Our CO says "reasonable phone calls" but she has yet to actually use one...
Every kid is going to have downfalls. I'm proud of your SD too for this though!!!
These toxic mothers do not
These toxic mothers do not want to see the damage their stinking attitude and opinions do to their children.
You are very lucky your SD can see through BM's lies and bollocks.
Most sane people, when constantly corrected or refuted, have the good sense to shut up, which makes your BM especially thick in not being able to take a ton of hints that her economy with the truth is falling on deaf ears.
I feel for your SD who needs to deal with BM.
