OMG is right? YUP this stuff happens not in a malicious act but a kid act.

Did she call PlayStation HELP directly. I know they have a 800 number/888 or something. She can tell them they were unauthorized Wink and beg to get them reversed. THEN playstation/xbox can have blocks on for her or something like that.

Our neighbors up the streets son charged up over 1k---boy oh boy was he is hot water with his folks.

Thanks for the reminder...........

Good to know! SS just got really into Minecraft and he plays it all the time at BMs. He only plays it a little bit at home on Friday and DH is usually playing with him but just in case I'll let DH know.

Tbe way this usually happens with gaming consoles is this... If you make one purchase one time with your debit or credit card it saves that information unless you remove it, so what happens is parents forget they had the info on the console and kids just start buying stuff

SS15 charged 6k onto BMs credit card via Xbox live. 6 freaking grand. He did it over the summer and she didn't catch it. She was only able to get a refund for the last week of purchases, 300$.

I had a blog about it, but man it was drama. He was hardly punished, then dh and I fought about it because he tried giving SS jobs around the house to help pay BM back. I threw a fit because it was her dumb @ss that left her credit card on there for him to use. And it was jobs he should have been helping with anyways, and not to mention DH had to baby sit him digging holes anyways. I would have dug the hole for 40$.

THEN BM was still going to take him on a vacation out of the country! She later changed her mind.

I did hear that grandBM returned the 200$ shoes she bought him to the store. Boohoo.

"I bag the controllers up and bring them to work with me."

Hahahaha, I love that.
I worked with a woman who did that to her husband!
She was tired of him not looking for a job and instead gaming all day long, so she took the controllers with her to work.
She was a temp and so I'm not sure what their relationship was like but we all thought it was hilarious!

You should never use your regular credit card to buy anything online.

Go to the store get one of those prepaid visa gift cards and use that. Once the amount on the gc is used up that's it, you can't keep putting items on it.

I once ordered some vitamins online. I didn't like them and sent them back, within the 30 days. No refund and the following month they charged my card and send me more of the useless things. I couldn't contact an actual person to cancel it and when I tried online I was told I'd have to send a letter registered mail!

I called my cc company and told them my card had been stolen. They canceled it and sent me a new one. It was the only way to stop them from charging my card. Lesson learned!

I just don't get it..... how is it possible for kids to do online purchases with out credit/debit card or account info?

I blame the parents for this, not the children, children will always take chances, but if parents leave the information open, they can not blame the kids.

SS14 did this a few times when he had the Xbox. It was only about £50 and he couldn't understand that as soon as he made a purchase, I received an email. DH took his online account away for about 6-8 months. When SS finally asked if he could have his online Xbox account back, he promised he'd never buy without permission again...and he hasn't.

How does this even happen? I have a credit card on file with google play store.. BUT I have it set up so in order to purchase ANYTHING, you have to enter a password, and BS7 does NOT have the password. It's always been that way, so he is trained to simply ask if he wants something.
