Which came first, the chicken or the entitled skid?

I have been reading various blogs, wondering about all of our skids and all the lovely things they do. Do you think that their bad behaviour comes from being children of divorce? From BMs who want revenge? From Dads who can't parent? So many skids in our blogs are really just terrors with the common denominator being that they are, well, skids!

What do you think causes these nasty cretins?

Resisting buying gifts for the skids.... anyone else battling with themselves?

I have read a number of posts regarding who is buying the xmas gifts for whom this year. Well, after joining this site months ago, I decided to disengage. My situation is a bit different in that neither of the SDs live with us anymore, for a variety of reasons. However, their birthdays and Christmas are around the corner and.... you guessed it, I always bought the gifts.

I have noticed in various blogs that some step-moms talk about their BMs texting them or calling them. My BM was never given my cell number - nope, definitely don't get along - and to be honest, I never really thought of her needing to have it.

Were you given the choice to hand over your phone number or was it just "Oh and here is step-mom's number in case you feel the need to rage like a psycho tornado"?

How do you feel about your BM having access to you and your number like that?

The perfect family...

I am wondering if anyone had or currently has one of those friends who seems to have the perfect family life. Their kids are also their friends, they seem to always get along, no stress, no fights, etc.

I had a friend that has that type of relationship with her kids. Mind you, they don't seem to have ever had to do any chores and if there were asked to do anything and didn't, it wasn't a big deal. Still, I would see that dynamic and wonder what I was doing wrong.

Has anyone else had that kind of an experience?
