Mother's Day

So last week I was so annoyed because SS10 was going to spend Mother's Day with me for the 4th year in a row (I've only known him for 4 years). DH had to work, so it's not like I could even relax.

Then all of these commercials...Sears (WTF) "get something for all the moms in your life" your sister, your mom's best friend, ect. NO STEPMOM. I was so annoyed. So then Pro Flowers...get flowers for Mom, Grandmom, The New Mom, and The Doggie Mom (again NO STEPMOM)...LOL, I threw my hands in the air and went "Yay, I was acknowleged, woohoo, Im a Doggie Mommy!!!" My husband laughed at me, he thinks Im nuts.

I had a wonderful Mother's Day I must say. I told DH not to pressure SS into anything. I got a card from my puppy, a card from DH, and SS made me a card. I got 2 hoodies that I've wanted (one from my puppy and the other from DH and SS). I was in shock. Then later SS and DH baked me a cake. SS wasn't really into the whole thing but his behavior was good and I was just really happy that I felt the appreciation from DH. I really needed that.

Good for you!
It does suck looking at all those cards. lol They have cards for everyone EXCEPT the step mom.
Mom, New Mom, Expecting Mom, Sister, Expecting Sister, Sister thats a mom, Aunt, Aunt thats a mom, Grandma, Daughter, expecting daughter, new mom daughter, and the list goes on!
I think the last stat I heard was something like 60% of families are a step-situation. WTF? Where is the step mom card?

I noticed that too this weekend when I was looking for a card for my mom and mother in law. Oh well.

I didn't even get a Happy Mother's day from my BF daughter. Just a nasty comment about flowers that I bought for BF mom. I hadn't given them to her yet and they were sitting on the counter. Princess asked her father who got those (knowing that he did not go out and get them, why not ask me). He said jojo did and then she said "Why would she got flowers for herself?" Mind you I am in the same room (so again why am I so insignificant that she can't even ask me directly). He straightened her out and told her that I had gotten them for Grandma and then she asked him why. I should just let it all roll off but I was really hurt...I have been nothing but nice to this child and she treats me like I'm the hired help around the house.

Im sorry to hear that. That is how my last 3 Mother's Days went. Its a goog thing BF straigtened her out.

I did get a stepmom card from the boys. It was really nice. DH said that there was only one at Wal Greens & then SS12 wrote some other nice things in it. DH bought a card from him & then one from BS. BS almost 3 also made me the cutest card at daycare & gave it to me the moment I walked in the door Friday. Collectively they bought me a hamock, which is one of those things where I think oh really when do you see me lying around doing nothing. DH picked that out because I like the hamock at my parents cabin, so his heart was in the right place.

Thats awesome!!! A hammock, lol, it seems like his heart was in the right place, but thats funny.

Thanks. When I told my co worker about the hammock, she was like really... I have a hard time seeing anyone but the kids laying in it. Me too.
