Puke's Room
DH told me this weekend that he's planning on finishing everything he's been wanting to do in Puke's room. I didn't say anything but I was thinking "why".
He believes Puke when she says when she turns 18 she's going to come on her own for visits. Then he says that it's pretty much a guest room now. Yeah with a teenage girl decor. We don't need a guest room. I need a sewing room. We can put a twin bed in there if Puke does visit.
I get that he doesn't want to write her off completely but when she turns 18 and is only coming occasionally, I don't see wasting a whole room just to keep as a shrine to Puke.

He wants to finish her bed by putting a footboard on it. Then wants to put in a vanity for her. And then a decorative surround for her TV. Nothing that benefits me and my sewing room.
Besides, he still thinks of her as a young girl so making it more mature won't happen. This is what happens when she rarely visits. He gets stuck in a time where he thinks she still is.
He's fooling himself if he thinks he'll have the money or the desire to finish her room. By then I will have started to take the room over with my sewing stuff.
I'm just waiting for when she
I'm just waiting for when she turns 18 and doesn't ever come. He'll see that I'm getting more use out of that room and lets go of it. I'm thinking when she moves out of her mom's suggesting she take the bed and all her decor with her. Makes me look like a saint and I get to do with the room what I want.
The TV is already mounted in a great spot and I wouldn't mind a nice fancy surround.

It's a 4 hour drive one way. Not sure that will be an issue. With the BF and friends that far away, I doubt she'll come that often.
I'm going to play it cool. Christmas is coming up and I am sewing some of my presents so I'll be set up in her room for a couple months as there is no other place for it all.

i cant wait till the 16 year old stops coming ,, i hope its 18 who knows though ? we have trundel in there room one bed for the 16 year ass and one for the 9 year old, i wanted a workout room and zen like room, but no now i have to step kids, i understand your pain. i have along way to go with the 9 year old
