All the spam we see on this website....do people actually take the time to make fake accounts just to bomb this site with dumb ads?

I guess so. I go to a few other forums, but none of them get any spam at all. Not one drop.

It's all automated bot programming. Most forums are standard enough - name, password, email address, and you're in. Bots are simple enough that they can try 100 different ways to register, and once they're in, it's random word salad and links.
