Face to face with the golden uterus

Well folks, it happened. I met GU. It was so anti-climatic. First off, he would be CRAZY to even think of leaving me. I won't say anything mean about her, we just are two VERY different people. And I guess the worse thing I will say is he definitely traded up.She eyed me for a moment then came over and said, "Hi, I'm GU".I just replied with, "Hi, I'm newbie". She said, "its nice to meet you" Then I was buckling the car seats into my car because my ding dong SO broke his hand (haha he totally deserved THAT one). So GU asks SO "Is that YOUR baby?" He says yes. She asks if she can go look at her. She went over and touched her hair to which my daughter promptly started crying as shes very much a mamas girl and does not like strangers unless I'm holding her. She talked to her son, SS4, about the baby for a minute. Baby calmed down when her brother put her binki back in. After I was done with the car seats she told me that my daughter was beautiful and she had amazing eyes. Then her and SO discussed drop off time. Then we left.
Like I said, very anti-climatic. But I find myself preparing for any potential blow up. For the moment, I'm glad she knows about me now. I feel like I've established my place a bit. I'm proud of SO for taking his balls back and starting to show her she can't be #1. He may try and use this as a I told you so situation but just being introduced makes me feel like he says I should have already felt. I feel like he's proud of us and values us and that we are a team.

i had to LOL about your baby's reaction. when my BD5 was just 6 months old, we had to meet BM at a food place parking lot to hand off SD. when BM saw and tried talkin to my BD, BD cried hysterically and then projectile vomited in her face! it was EPIC!

It may have felt anti-climatic but it was a defining moment. I'm glad your SO stepped up. Congrats!

I'm so glad to hear that it went well. I was really concerned about him seemingly hiding your and your daughter from her. It's got to feel so good to know that it's no longer an issue, and also to have met her and have any jealousies tossed aside. Congratulations Smile
