What is the gestational period for launching a stepchild?

I have the answer.

It's 26 months. SDstb21 officially moved out this weekend! She moved in with a former co-worker and is splitting the bills with her. Actually she's been out of the house for two weeks doing a "trial run" to make sure this living arrangement was going to work out.

It's a go!

DH and I helped her move some stuff this afternoon. She'll be living about eight minutes away, just down the street from where we used to rent before we bought our house in the country.

She's ecstatic, AND SO ARE DH AND I!

He's been ready for her to go for a while. The fun of having his daughter living with him has worn off. Now he and I just want our privacy (along with cutesy-mug free cabinets).

She got done with hair school back in November and just start working at a high-quality salon in January.

She's doing well. DH and I are both proud of the effort she's made, especially during the last 12 months.

I left here a while back a mess and needed time to sort that all out, but now I'm back. DH and I had a few rocky points I might blog about later, but we are in a good place now. Back in October we finally put all our feelings out on the table and just got real about it. A lot of anger and resentment from both sides got exposed, and we've grown past that now. It was painful but necessary, just something he and I needed to grow through.

But enough about that.

SHE'S OUT!

Hi there - I am relatively new to Stalk (since December 2016), but congratulations. I have an SD17 who will be 18 this month and then graduate a month later from HS (we hope). I frankly told my SO that I do not expect Winona SD17 to successfully launch until the age of 21, so we had better come up with a plan. From here, I have learned so much, and hope that it will work out as well for us as it apparently has for you!!!!

Hopefully you do not have a "boomerang SD"....
