SS
I have not been posting for a bit, things have been going fairly smoothly, but how I’m to get through the next year, I’m really not sure.
SS13 has decided to move back in with us. Am I happy? No, but whatever I’m an adult I can deal with it.
SS13 as I have mentioned in the past has NO and I mean NO social skills. Really doesn’t have any friends. My BS11, is a social butterfly, (actually that is the main complaint in parent teacher interviews, is that he is soooo social), and is constantly getting phone calls from friends to go to the park, or go for a bike ride, or to come over and go swimming, normal kid stuff.
My DH is all pissy because BS11 is not taking SS13 with him to play and do things. SS13 is a year and a half older than BS11, why would he want to hang out with younger kids? Is it wrong for me to think that BS11 should have his own friends, and SS13 should make some friends? I mean SS13 lived with us for 5 years or so, he does know kids in the area, if he would actually leave the house, he may even meet new people to become friends with.

He may just not be a people
He may just not be a people person. It's probably not a bad idea for your son to take him a few times, it might help loosen him up. Sometimes you actually have to force kids to do things. My brother was like that when we were younger, he never wanted to go anywhere, but my dad would force him, and then when we got there he had a blast! Your husband is not wrong for asking you to do this, he probably just wants the boys to get along and for his son to feel included. Sometimes its best to not sweat the small stuff, this is not that big of a deal and hey, it will get your SS out of the house!
I can understand that, but
I can understand that, but why is it BS responsibility to entertain SS? I mean even when BS is home doing his thing, he doesn't mind playing with SS, but SS will wait outside the bathroom door for BS to come out again, so that he can follow him around.
vickmeister, that is what i
vickmeister, that is what i thought. BS doesn't mind taking him sometimes, but every single time is a bit much. I think socializing is a VERY improtant life skill that EVERYONE needs to have.
