Happy thoughts for Princess (and a silent prayer for me)

Last-Wife's picture

Princess had surgery on Monday. Many of you may recall she was in a horrific accident last June, in which she was pulled from her vehicle moments before it exploded. Her ankle was shattered in the accident, when the engine block came up through the steering colum and busted her ankle.

Well, the bones never healed properly, so the new doc fused the tibia and fibula together, and cleaned up the ankle joint the best he could. He said he'd never seen an ankle so bad in someone so young before. He said his patients in their 60s and 70s have better ankles than she does.

Of course Loca Grande and Gullible were there for the surgery. I was the one that arranged the meetings with that doc, and I noticed most of his discussions throughout the day were aimed at me, which pissed her off. As Princess was drifting off on her meds, Loca made a point to say loudly in front of all the nurses about "mommy's here, I won't leave you..."

When she was awake enough after the surgery, guess who Princess asked to see first?

ME (and Loghead)

She's doing pretty well, actually. Last summer, in the weeks before the accident, she had been so horrible to Loghead and I, that we didn't even want her around. But that accident was really the best thing that ever could have happened to her. It made her wake up, and she's really grown and matured in the last year. So she's here, with me, for her recovery. Loca's pissed about that too...

But I know the crazy b%$#^ is her mother, and I'm a nice person. I've always twisted Loca just cause it's fun to watch her squirm. So I've invited her to spend the day tomorrow, here, with Princess. Oveer the years, Loca has stayed here for different reasons, or we've had family gatherings, so really it's no big deal. Princess is pretty much confined to her bedroom, so they're just gonna hang out there and watch movies. I'll get some school work done. And I'm
sure I'll overhear lots of interesting things.

And get a good laugh. The woman kept going on and on Monday about how much weight she's lost, but every time I looked over at her, she was shoving another muffin in her mouth, and I've lost 14 pounds in the last month! AND her hair is so reddish-purple, Ronald McDonald wouldn't even wear that color.

So, think happy thoughts for Princess, and pray that I can make it through the day with Loca in the house...

(I made sure to budget my food plan for a drink with tomorrow night's dinner after Loca leaves...)
