Where is the sanitizer?!
Everything has been going well, I became the SD's new favorite and then BAM! Sickness to screw it all up lol. She was sent home from school so my fiance stayed home all last week with her. Our bonding time right - out the window. Not that it's her fault, it's mine. I have an issue, and boy, I hope yall can help me with it... I hate germs! The kid has it coming out of both ends and is sneezing and coughing on everything in sight. I watched her puke on her hands and then wipe it in her hair. Yuck! I want to be there for her and make her feel better while maintaining the favorite position but I just want to gag every time I see it.
I have always had this problem.. If a kid kisses me with a runny nose, I freak out. If they sneeze or cough near my food, I can't eat. Hell, I refuse to even eat/drink/share the same container for consumption with a child. This even pertaining to sharing a bag of chips-so not going to happen! Something about it just gets in my head and grosses me out. I can change a diaper without issue, but the rest I just can't seem to handle.
Any tips on what could help me with this?

I'm the same way. I can't
I'm the same way. I can't even stand sharing food out of the same container with adults. My 2 year old grosses me out, but for some biological reason it's tolerable. He's been using me as a human napkin/tissue for months now so I've toughened up. But my skids were quarantined to their rooms any time they were sick.
Germaphobe
If she wants what I have, it's an entire ordeal. There must be separate containers in different areas, so she doesn't get them confused. It is absurd lol
I'm trying..
I will say that with my teachings that I can sneak in when my fiance isn't around... she started to cover her mouth when she coughs. She trries to chew with her mouth closed but that is a battle that I am still fighting -_- She doesn't say excuse me or anything at allwhen passing gas. She gives it no attention at all like it never happened. Even if they giggle, I've always seen children react to it. I understand that as adults, we do disgusting things with our mouths as well. I completely understand that argument, but I can handle that with ease. Seeing her runny nose or sticky fingers touch my counter sends me into a rage.
Yeah. Stepkids are gross no
Yeah. Stepkids are gross no matter how you look at it. I used to get so grossed out when YSD would roll herself up in one of my blankets to snack and read...just imagining flecks of kid goo getting everywhere.
I always cleaned deeply as soon as skids left (washed all linens, swept and mopped, sprayed curtains, couches, and cushions...ran my essential oil diffuser with 'Stress Away' and 'Purification' mix...lol).
Don't know what it is. My niece and nephews could cough all over me and I wouldn't flinch. Skids just totally grossed me out in every way. They were always snively and sickly...especially OSD who was bulimic for a while. So, yeah. Flecks of dried vomit all around my toilet and shower drain when they left. Joy.
Wiped puke in her hair. What
Wiped puke in her hair. What the crap? How old is sd??
On side note, when they are your own kids it's not quite so bad. My 2 year old had stomach flu last week. I was in the kitchen and he was in the livingroom. Poor little guy threw up in a little kiddie bucket for sorting shapes. He brought it to me and said "I spilled". Lol, thats what he said everytime he threw up. At least it was in a bucket and not all over the floor.
Oh my goodness
Yes! At least he had the knowledge to spew into a bucket. This girl is 3 and acts like she has never seen anyone throw up and that it's not supposed to go all over. Ever seen the movie 'Big Daddy' where the kids just sprays across the floor? That's what she does.... Just stands there and let's loose! It's repulsive!!! Same thing when she eats even. No thought to wipe her hands just touch the table, chair, wall etc.. I am screaming on the inside. I just want to yell at my fiance, "How do you not see how disgusting this little girl is?!"
