One of my daughter's teammates
I am one of the assistant coaches/team mom for my daughter's softball team. The other assistant coach is divorced. His daughter is in the 6th grade, same as mine. So she has to be around 11/12.
I SWEAR TO DOG- She calls her dad - "Dada". I am just going to call her "H". I thought I was hearing things at practices. I know he is divorced and this is his big thing to do as a dad, so I just let him deal with her at practice. He doesn't make her do the rounds with the other girls. We had our second game last night and I ran the line up after the 1st inning. The head coach asked me to do the rest since he wasn't sure of the best positions for the girls.
I had H sit out the second inning. She was up my butt and was trying to call to her dad with sunflower seeds in her hand "DADA! Do you want some??" - Her dad ignored her. I had to pick my jaw up off the gound, look her deadpan in the face and said "Did you seriously just call your father 'dada'?" She nodded. I said "Seriously, stop. That is embaressing for both of you. You are not a baby. Stop acting like one. We are at softball, you are expected to be tough, not some little infant calling for DADA. Go over there, I don't want to hear "dada" again. That was gross."
She stomped away but it ended the "dada" for the rest of the game.
If she is your step daughter, you are welcome.

My SS11 still calls my
My SS11 still calls my husaband dada. And he still tries to sit in his lap and cuddle. He wants him to tuck him in at night. It’s rough. I thought maybe it was just me. I know if it’s not appropriate for an 11 year old girl tho BOY definitely should knock it off.
That is not normal or ok!

A former schoolmate of mine (54yo) still calls her mother "Mommy". AT HER MOTHER'S INSISTANCE. *shok*
