Am I just being paranoid?

jojo68's picture

My boyfriend of 2 years had a brief relationship with someone a couple months before he met me. She was 20 years his junior but he was just eat up with her. When we first started seeing each other, he was texting her and IMing her on the computer a lot. I saw what he wrote and it was just friendly stuff but none the less it kinda bothered me. It seemed when she talked to him she needed something...gas money, borrow a vehicle, money loan, ect...so I think she only used him to get her along when she need something. Drama queen, not very attractive, but I guess the trill of the challenge of a younger women attracted him. She started seeing someone and all the communication with him stopped. Yesterday he told me that she called him crying and telling him that she and her boyfriend broke up. Then he jokingly said..I guess it's time for you to move out. I was an emotional wreck the rest of the day even though he reassured me that he would never do that to me and that he intended to be with me for the rest of our lives. I tend to be insecure when it comes to that kind of stuff. I am really sad and really worried but on the other hand..I really feel that he loves me and wants me. Give it to me straight ladies...should I be worried?

No! That was an awful thing for him to say (let me at him, I'll bop him one on the nose for you!) It is NEVER OK to joke about getting back with an ex, especially when said ex is newly single - as for whether you should be truly worried or he's just really insensitive... I can't make that call honey as I don't know either of you well enough - is he normally a jokey comments kinda guy?

I don't think you should be worried, but I think your boyfriend needs to cut communication with her. There is no reason they need to talk, they don't have kids together. I also think its inappropriate for anyone to boohoo to an ex about a break up, I always felt that was a way to get something out of someone.

My answer always remains the same...(ever hear of VM and no call back?)

"And just WHY do you even have to answer?"

Serious. If they know it is an ex-anything, wth do they have to answer?

It reminds me of the fairy tale (no offense) where a woman MADE a man (right) eat an Apple...always an excuse. (please, not ONE woman has ever put a gun to a mans head to force them to do anything.)

Don't get me started. Smile

Thanks ladies...that gives me some peace of mind. He is very insensitive...lol...but he wouldn't be him if he wasn't. If you don't wanna know the truth about something he is definately not the one ask about it...lol. Out of no where yesterday he gives me these flowers and a card that said how much he loved me and how thankful he was to have me in his life. So every once in a while the sensitive side comes around!I was actually so suprised by it all that I cried. :O Yes I think it is inappropriate to boohoo to an ex too. When I break up with someone...it's a clean break...no stones unturned and no baggage. If I saw them on the street I would be cordial..but as for a "friendship"...NO.
