My father was on Ativan when he was in the hospital...we referred to it as the wonder drug. My only firsthand experience was when I went in for Lasik surgery. I took Ativan the morning of the surgery and they could have removed my eyeballs for all I cared. I only took one pill so I'm probably not a good data point.
I call PAXIL the evil drug. It did no good for me, it made everything worse and I gained 50 pounds in 3 months because of it, then it took me 3 years to take it off. I know many people who were on it and got off it because it wasn't helping at all.
