School involvement with sk

FH has 2 kindergartners and the school is having special friend/grandparents day! I would really like to go since it is inappropriate for me to be involved in parent/teacher nights. Have your kids ever had this at their school? Did you go? Should I fight for this? I do their homework with them and I am very involved in their studies and would love to meet teachers and classmates! What to do?!

I see nothing wrong with it. speically if the child would like for you to be there. you are not over stepping.

Ok good, BioMom wants to send her mother and her grandmother! However, my fdh feels he should be able to have someone represent his family, that being me. I've expressed to him how I feel and he is going to work it out the best he can. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't asking anything irrational!

Yes there is a bio mom. FH agrees that as much involvement as I have in their schooling at our home, I should be able to go. However, he never really likes to rock the boat because when the day comes and he does want to go for full custody, he doesnt want her to be able to say that he was ever unaccomodating. So, I am a little curious how he will "fight" for this.
