I'm on cloud 9!

So....BM and FH are using the courts to help settle their issues.

Actually...all issues were settled in a Separation Agreement that they worked on together last summer until, that is, FH refused to the amount of spousal support she demanded.

BM took FH to court.

In Canada we have 3 'cushions' before the couple ends up in court. Case Conference, Settlement Conference, Trial Management Conference...then court.

In January they went to the Case Conference. BM had re-negged on all issues and wanted sole custody, the house, huge spousal, equalization etc...etc.

Mind you..this is an educated woman, who made $60,000 a year prior to the baby, took two years off, re-entered the work-force part-time, then full-time, then decided she didn't want to work anymore so went back to part-time. Under employed and under paid.

So...the Case Conference went really well...judge said that she'd be imputed an income of approx. $30,000 and received the low end of the spousal support guidelines.

Mediation fixed all other issues except the amount of spousal.

SO...they went to the Settlement Conference today and the judge worked out the numbers and came back with $210 for spousal.

This isn't final...if BM is stupid she can still take this to trial (big mistake). So....now I just wait because they are still seeing an onsite mediator at the courts.

It could all be over in 2 hours or she'll drag it out. We would be awarded costs because she is being unreasonable!
