For SS? Of course we can do that! *vent*
When we got married, I tried and tried and tried to get my DH to get a place on post with absolutely no luck.
One of his buddies convinced him that housing here was divided into units, and his unit got a shitty area where he didn't want to live. I explained until I was blue in the face that that was *NOT* the way it worked, that each housing area would have a wait list, and we just put our name on the best one with a wait list the length of time we were willing to wait. I, obviously, was wrong because his buddy said otherwise. I mean, it's not like I grew up with a father in the army, and I certainly was never in, myself *eyeroll*. So, no post housing for us.
Anyway, every since the incident with MIL and SS's toys a while back, DH has been on a mission to get his son for the summer which I fully support. However, I started pointing things out to him. We will need a new dining room set. We had one when I got here that would seat 6. It was mine. DH didn't like it and insisted we get a different one. It only seats 4. The baby is growing quickly. I'm thinking that by the time summer rolls back around, she will be long since be out of her high chair, and 3 kids + 2 adults = 5 butts.
Well, since SS is now involved, yes, we need a bigger dining set. Man, he wishes we hadn't donated my old set that had six chairs and table big enough to accomodate all six.
I also brought up when he started mentioning SS that this 3 br house we rent isn't going to cut it if we have 3 kids who will each need their own room. The girls could share short term, but long term that will not work as a solution. So now, he's been looking into post housing. As it turns out, housing isn't assigned by unit, but by family size and pay grade. He can put us on the wait list for any housing area we qualify for. Really, DH? You don't say.
So, when it was just us to consider, I was a raging idiot and there was no way your buddy could be wrong, but now that SS is involved, *you* looked into housing and *you* found out your buddy was mistaken. And, jeez, we could've been in a 4 br town house this whole time that's 300 sq. ft. bigger than the place we're renting and much, much cheaper, to boot.
Well DH, you're lucky you're good looking b/c your an inconsiderate, hard-headed idiot.

Nope, I gave the dagger stare of death . . . to the computer. I wish he was here to see it, but c'est la vie.

I think men (in general) need
I think men (in general) need to feel like it was THEIR idea, not yours. Many times I've suggested something to FDH which he ignored; only to have him "suggest" it later on like it was HIS original thought! :?
