My b-day is coming up. Assuming he actually deploys on the day he's set to (these things can change up to the last minute), DH will miss it by 3 days. Really, though, this won't be anything new. XH and I never celebrated my b-day; for the year and a half after I left XH and before I met DH, I didn't have anyone to celebrate with, so I didn't; since DH and I have been together, something has always seemed to come up on or right before my b-day.

DH wants to get me a new cell phone (he *loves* presents and having the latest tech gadgets) and hide it until my b-day and rely on the memory of an ADHD 10 y.o. for me to get it. Ok, so logistical issues aside . . . this is just feeling like another day to me. Actually, I'll be quite UN-celebratory. I so loathe having to fake happy when I'm not.
