Howdy everyone!

Things have been good in stepkidville. We still have very little interaction but gentle communication. Its amazing because now her father has to do all the work and he has seen how much goes in. She is coming up for Christmas and he is getting her from and back to the airport, meaning he has to be there two hours before her plane lands and has to wait for her plane to take off (unaccompanied minor). He started to complain about it and I just shrugged and said, well I'll be at the spa that day with my mom so have fun! His kid, his problem

SPEAKING OF MY MOTHER.

So while she does amazing things like take me to the spa, she also does wacky things like say shes going to cook Christmas dinner (on the 21 because scheduling) but then say, nah you can just (like it isn't hard) cook dinner and we can do it at your house. Wait.... What? You want me to cook dinner for 20 people while working full time and grad school and STEPKID BEING HERE Cue meltdown. Having stepkid around can be enough stress nevermind my family! They don't even make enough wine for this!!

So everyone, I'm catering it. A good friend of mine who used to own a small upscale restaurant offered and we're going for drinks on Friday to finalze the menu. I'll have her drop the food off right before, dirty some pots and pans and make myself look like some type of miracle rockstar. If its something I've learned from this website its to love and be nice to yourself. I estimated costs and its well worth it for me not to cook and even if it wasn't, I'd probably still do it anyway.
