Attic Storage

Cover1W's picture

Gathered up all of SD11 and SD9 things that were laying around the living room after they left last Monday morning. Put it all in a bag and put that bag in the attic. I wonder how long it’ll take before they miss the stuff? I give it a month, two, never? And I don’t know what they are talking about, no, I haven’t seen it.

I'll see if they miss it this visit. They are here again for the EOW stay so we'll see. If not, I'll just continue to collect things. I'm planning a donation run at the end of March so it will all go away if they don't realize it by then.

DH made the rules: "If it's not in your bedroom, it's garbage." and "If it's on your bedroom floor, it's garbage." Also, if they leave remotes on the floor in the living room, they will lose that TV.

I did discuss this with my DP; I'm in control of living room/kitchen-dining/bathroom. If they don't clean up their stuff after being asked/not being asked, before they leave after a visit, I will. You need to let them know this, DP. He didn't. He doesn't ask. So I am just keeping up my end of the deal. It's refreshing.

I'm in control of the entire house, lol! My DH made those rules. I only enforce them. In fact, after the last skid weekend, I will no longer bother to ask DH if the skids picked up. My skid tolerance reservoire has dried up.

Around here if it's in the floor it's trash. If it's in a room it doesn't belong in and you've been asked to pick up your things. It's trash. So every morning before I go to work I take a bag and fill it up with what ever the kids have chosen to lay around. My thoughts are if it is important to you then take care of it. Oh and if we have bought something for the kids and they don't take care of it or keep up with it we don't replace it if we have to trash it. That would defeat the purpose.
