Update in Clove-Land

Hello all on this first day of Spring. A day that will go down in history due to this COVID-19 Pandemic.

Firstly - to all you Steptalkers that are suffering at home with their demon-spawn stepkids, I am SOSOSO sorry for this pain that you must endure. I will NOT spout that credo we have "you must realize that BM might kickoff at any time and you will be stuck with full-time demon-spawn". This is a dress-rehersal for that.

Mostly - to all you Steptalkers that are medical professionals - thank you for all your hard work and sacrifices. This is serious, and those spring breakers in Florida are making my heart hurt (and lungs) for their largely entitled attitudes. "I worked hard going to classes, I am ENTITLED to my Spring Break, and thats an old persons disease anyway."

To all my beloved Steptalkers that have followed me on my journey:

- The new puppy that Troll bought (from a backyard breeder) the husky/samoyed mix, is POOPING EVERYWHERE INSIDE that 1-edroom apartment. The kitchen, the living room, anywhere and everywhere except outside. DH was firm about not taking care of pupster if Troll gets eveicted (again)

- I am urging DH to not have ANY MORE contact with Troll. He will drop her "support" checks (that are supposed to be "child") off in her mail box...no direct contact at all is necessary.

- This non contact thing, being sheltered-in-place has me both in a funk and blissful. In a funk because - the laundry - its not going anywhere and Im not going anywhere, so watch it while it sits there. Same with all the other projects. Oh, gym closed - its COLD and rainy outside, good excuse to curl up and watch whatever on netflix Blissful because the Troll has been silenced. no texting, nothing, because no exchanges and no SD13. While I miss her, this has really illustrated the role that skids play in our dramas. Right now, the only drama is unfolding day by day around me.

- I am considered "essential", so my work routine is unchanged except at lunch I stay in, and after I go home and thats it. Its a veritable ghost town where I work, and at home, the neighbors havent moved a whisker. Its cold silent, but with cars parked in all the driveways, none on the streets. Safeway is bare bones of anything, No pasta. Very little meat. Our freezer is stocked and we have wine, beer and tequila for our at-home twosome parties. I just bought a bunch of herbs and veggies for planting, just in case.

Things are good, but times are scary. There are no testing kits available at this time, in my area. There are two "confirmed cases" in my county and the county I work in has 14 "confirmed cases".

Let me know how you are doing...

My crew and I are essential also.  One of my crew's Mother is being monitored and waiting on her test results so our whole Operations center (data center) could very well be under quarantined in a few days.  Want to watch a state data center go into chaos???  Have the essential, least paid employees not be able to come to work.  My stress level quadrupled last night after that call.

Our state had a confirmed case finally this week, with a second one the next day.  The wife of the 1st case told how it took them many days to even get a test done and she is also having symptoms.   I'd say our state is contaminated but no kits because we are a low population, of mostly elderly, and not important enough.

DSO brought SS20 to our house right at the time things really got out of control so I'm stuck as my 88yo Mother is in cancer remission so I can't go stay with her, or anyone right now.   Of course Asshole has a great excuse to not look for a job but Daddddeeee still carts him to peoples house and the Asshole is around who knows who and where.  I laid down the law this morning.   I said that this scare from work is enough for me.  Either ASshole stays at our house or stays wherever he is spending a night or I'll live at work if need be.   Being quarantined at work has honestly come up so we can keep the states network going and help all the online instructors and students.

Stay safe and bunker down.

And being concientius. Why is Dadee being so foolish right now? This is so freaking serious. I feel for you big time!

I see the lack of tests being a huge problem, a huge contributor to the population being complacent. My own DH, he was just at his brothers, who just got done fighting lymphoma!!! "oh but I washed my hands and we were just talking outside". Ive been on him pretty hard.

What you need to do, is take away your DH spark plugs when you hear ASShole making plans with friends. Or after he has dropped off Asshole, and returned home.

Asshole is getting his own rides.   I DO NOT UNDERSTAND..  I swear SS has DSO in the mindset of his marriage....do not say NO, do not argue, do not piss him/her off.

I'm at the point of wanting to just fucking evict DSO but even that won't be for months.  If we have to bunker down at work, I will volunteer to be one of them.

I'm on paid leave for my day job while kids are out. We're on day 5 of Homeschool technically because I kept both SS8 and BS4 home from school knowing they would call it by mid day. And they did. Within the hour BM wanted to switch to the Summer schedule and DH had to shut that down. We go back to court in May and family court seems to be still rolling although most other official offices are closed until mid April. I find homeschooling to be a lot like our Summers where we do educational stuff for a few hours then outside entertainment for the majority of the day--essential for ADHD kids. We started our own garden but the boys chose mostly fruits and flowers they liked. I got two veggies in the small plot. Our area doesn't have enough kits for everyone and are denied them unless you are part of the groups most likely to die (old or autoimmune). SS has a cough. He's had it for since BMs weekend before last. He coughed all week and by Friday it wasn't any better so we did an EVisit. The nurse just said cough medicine and rest. Of course he went to BM's who took him out for ice cream, to Walmart, to find GS cookies so he returned Sunday with a cough just as bad. I think it's finally shaking lose but he'll be leaving again tomorrow so ya know- 1 step forward, 2 steps back kind of progress I guess. Overall not too bad. Not yet but I figure it's coming.

Since everyone else is home now is a great time to go out and all over, right!

We have folks who are still in that mindset and the beaches were crowded yesterday. I was flabbergasted.

At least all has been silent from Toxic Troll land.

Yesterday we pulled weeds and set up the veggie box I bought from home depot last weekend.

my reptilian brain, fearing loss off cilantro...
