OT Needing some good juju/vibes/prayers

Ive got an emergency exam for today. I took the day off and will have someone look at my wisdom tooth. Since Monday I have been in extreme pain and need all your good vibes that it is a simple process with no infection or difficulties...

Hopefully it all works out! I had this happen a few years ago, too. Impacted wisdom tooth that was infected. Was put on antibiotics for a week and had to have it extracted (along with another wisdom tooth that had already come through). No issues after, other than being stuck on a soft food diet for a few days. Funniest part to me was that I had been told for years that I didn't have wisdom teeth - never showed up on my x-rays. Finding out I had two in my late 20s was a trip!

Thank you, I dont really know what to expect, I had one extracted but without infection.

I did have to go to an oral surgery center to have it removed because they had to cut open my gum to get it out. My dentist didn't want to be cutting into me with the active infection, so I think there was 2 weeks between my initial appointment and surgery.

And when I say "surgery", it's less invasive than an colonoscopy. I walked in, sat in a dental chair, and they put an IV in me while hooking me up to a nose cannula of oxygen and a heart rate monitor (which both seemed excessive). They gave me some night-night juice and I was asleep for maybe an hour? Then they woke me up, walked me to a recovery recliner until I was fully awake (roughly another 30 minutes), and DH drove me home. I slept the rest of the afternoon and took OTC pain meds. Also had some gauze to chew on and ice packs for each cheek.

I went out with friends the next day. Suture dissolved and fell out within a week or two. Just follow the instructions the dentist gives you and youll be fine.

Crossing my fingers for a quick and easy recovery! I have to have some dental work done too and I'm dreading it! Would rather have surgery ugh.

Tooth pain is the worst. Hopefully it's going to be resolved quick. Good luck!!
