We're moving!
We've got an offer on our house and the buyer wants to settle in 3 weeks! After 8 long months, we're finally going to sell our place and move closer to SD! Hooray hooray hooray! Now let's get ready for WWIII when BM finds out...
Anyway, for now I will focus on how wonderful this is for our family! It has been such a struggle since the baby was born last July. I lost my job, started a new part-time job that drove me absolutely insane because I had a never-ending pile of work I brought home with me, I left that job to start my own business, oh and I had an infant and toddler to contend with all on my own! We moved out here for that aforementioned job that I LOST, our original plan being that my fiance would find a new job out here and leave his old one. Well, that didn't happen so he's been commuting by bus 2.5 hours (each way!) all this time. Most often, he's been staying over during the week, to get some overtime in because we're so broke, and because when he sees SD for his weekly dinners there's no way to even get him home. So basically I've felt like a single mom!
Now we'll be closer to his job, closer to SD, closer to our friends and we'll be able to have a (quasi)normal life! Hooray hooray hooray! I am on cloud 9 right now.
I miss you all, my old StepTalk friends. I bet half of you reading this don't even know who I am, so many of you are new. I've sort of disappeared off the face of the planet because things have been so extremely stressful and busy. I hope to get to know you all again!

Keeping my fingers crossed
I am keeping my fingers crossed that closing goes off without a hitch. I am also getting ready to move. The realtor came yesterday to take pictures then called me a couple of hours later to let me know that someone wanted to see the house today. It's posted as a new listing with no photos yet so I was quite shocked at such an early showing.
Can you say NERVOUS WRECK??
Fingers crossed for you too!
Isn't it stressful?! I hope you'll sell fast and at a good price.
Thanks Caitlin
Yes, it is stressful. I actually had 2 showings on the first night. My realtor emailed me to say she would be in touch with me soon with some feedback on the showings. I hear so many bad things about the housing market nowadays and it makes me nervous, but I also have seen that the homes in my neighborhood are never on the market for very long. My boss lives not far from me...she and her husband had their house up for sale for 15 months and decided to pull it off the market cause they couldn't sell it. Honestly, though, this is a very nice house and I did a lot of work on it to make it more attractive and I have to say it looks great...better than when we bought it. I appreciate the good wishes. I am moving in 2 weeks and don't want to be paying rent and a mortgage for too long!
Good for you!
Congratulations on the sale! Make sure you pack all your best armor for when you move closer to SD/BM. Methinks you may need it!

Armor... check!
Yeah, I know BM will pull out all the stops now. We're prepared. I think.
So things are moving fast. We signed a lease today and brought SD over to our new house to surprise her. We brought takeout and sat on the kitchen floor for an impromptu picnic! It was lovely so I will focus on that when the shit hits the fan later.
SD asked if it was in her school district (it is) and she said maybe she could take the bus to our house on Wednesdays for the weekly dinner night. That just warmed my heart that she wants to do that. BM will NEVER allow it, but I'm glad that SD wants to.
Hey Hun!
That's so great! Good luck!
*~So sayeth Nymh~*
Oy.
Wow, yours slanders you too?! According to the lovely BM in my life, I have given her daughter the finger, BF is abusive, I'm the dirty mistress who split them up, we teach our 2 year old curse words, etc etc.
Now that we'll be living in the same township, she's really going to crank it up a notch to try to turn the whole community against us. Too bad for her that everyone can see she's crazy within the first 5 minutes of meeting her.
Congrats!
I am so happy that things are going to be changing for the better for you. I have missed your regular blogs. It is great to have an update from you. How is SD doing? Has any of the counselling paid off?
Has counseling paid off?
I wish! I don't know - maybe SD has learned some coping mechanisms but we're still in the same living hell as far as I can tell. She seems to be doing ok and then suddenly she (SD) is going off on us after being up till 3am talking with BM about how horrible we are. PAS at its best.
Caitlin!
I'm so happy for you!
Expect the worst and hope for the best. That's all I can think of to say when it comes to your SD and her BM....

Good for you
I'm so happy that things are looking up! You were missed.
congrats
We are working on buying a house too. But is 8 miles farther away from BM. Like she cares. My SO moved my way to be with me and away from BM. Good luck and best wishes - remember where you packed the toilet paper and baby stuff = in your car - so you have what you need when you need it.
