Love the first words out of skids mouths. What did dad buy you for Valentines? DH doesn't have a dime and they know that because BM makes them call weekly for things they 'need'
I wanted to say I never get SHIT because every dime goes to you and your mother. But i refrained. Last time they were here they asked if DH buys me things.
What ever. He couldn't even if he wanted to.

Next time they ask you, you should say, "why?" and when they squirm and say "well.. i just want to know." act baffled and say "... why are you asking me that though?" throw it back on them and see what happens... So rude

My skids do this after each & every Holiday!!! Pretty annoying, isnt it? In my case, its always BM plugging them to get info. So now we use it to our advantage per se. I own alot of nice jewelry & like to rotate them every few days. Its my outlet if you will & Ive learned to buy wholesale- so that helps alot. Most were purchased before DH & I got together. Every. Single. Visit. SS11 will look at my jewelry- ask me how much it costs, which I never reveal!!! You see, BM has the skids convinced that DH doesnt pay for their very overpriced wants- cause DH soends all his money on me & my jewelry!! Grr... Its the same as our 3 day weekend trip last year on our Anniversary!! The skids very bluntly asked us how much the trip cost & why we didnt take them along!!! They of course asked us directly after they had talked to BM on the phone that night!!! Of course we told them that it didnt matter what or how much it cost!! But dang, SS stillll brings it up about it still, a year ago!!!

This Valentines Day my DH got me very nice gifts that I loved!! He did good!! SSs were supposed to be here this wkend, but they got the flu & werent well enough to travel the 4 hour roundtrip to visit. So I somewhat skated thru this Holiday. But. I can bet ya that SS11 will ask a bajillion questions of "what did Dad get you & how much did it cost" crap!!! I absolutely guarantee it!!

OP- Id almost guarantee you that your BM puts crap into their heads to get them to drill y'all for the info she wants. We found out our BM talks to the boys about this kinda stuff on the way to the drop off/pick up site!!! So as soon as the boys get in our car & we start to drive its question after question. Its precisely the reason i no longer go to the pick up site!! Very annoying!!

Hope your steps get tired of it all & give it up.
