SS21's Temper Tantrum

SS21 wants a new cellphone.

He was complaining to DH and I on Friday that the power button on his cell sticks and that a new Galaxy was coming out and it was time for an upgrade. SS21 knows better than to ask us for a new cell, he knows we'd flat out tell him NO.  

So Saturday SS21 "dropped" his cell in the lake when we got back from tubing. 

Sunday night SS21 is at BM's wanting her to buy him a new cell phone. BM said no and that he could either buy his own or use her old one.

SS21 threw a fit in front of his girlfriend and SF. Since BM still pays SS21's car insurance, buys his clothes and pays his cell bill SS21 believes BM owes him a new phone.

SF told SS21 he is 21 years old and if he doesn't like the rules he should move out Smile I really like SF.

His girlfriend told SS21 he was being stupid.

BM texts DH complaining that she didn't raise SS21 to act this way.

Um, yes BM you did. BM gave SS21 everything he wanted when he wanted it. SS21 has grown into an entitled man-child.

SS21 has money for fun stuff he wants to do but is broke when it comes to the necessities. He works full-time in summer and part-time during the school year.

Well, boo hoo, that's not how being an adult works. In the REAL world, that is. I hope your DH refuses to buy spoiled brat SS a phone!

Eww I hope his girlfriend takes notes of what she doesn't want in her next boyfriend.

Sounds like SS needs a good swift kick off the BM and DH teat and to get out there in the real world.

If she is smart she will dump SS21. She seems to think she can help him with the "adulting process". I told her SS21 needs to be out on his own, supporting himself, with no financial help from anyone, that is the only way he will begin to understand what being an adult is.

BTW - I hate the term adulting - just seems stupid.

But she didn't raise him this way? She's still "raising him this way"!! Cracks me up.

And the girlfriend thinks she can help him be an adult. Poor thing.
