SD is in trouble academically. And she's also in trouble with FDH.

SD hasn't been doing her work since she got back to GUBM's on the 5th - not surprising because she did NOTHING in December, too - and she's been avoiding FDH about it and lying to him as well. Hell, I even texted her the other day to ask how she was doing - I wasn't asking about school, I was genuinely interested in how SHE was doing mentally, physically, etc. - and she didn't respond. She told FDH last week that GUBM had been forcing her to go to work with her every day, although I'm not really sure if I believe that anymore because today, FDH got some sob story about how SD was too sick to do ANYTHING this whole past week - but, we know she's been online in the past week so FDH and I know she's lying about this as well. She claims that GUBM got her sick, that she was sick when SD got back to her house two weeks ago and that now SD has what GUBM had. Not likely. SD has a beast of an immune system and is basically NEVER sick to start and then there's the whole fact that we both know she's been online doing fun things this week. So she was "too sick" to even talk to FDH or do school work, but not too sick to do what she wanted to do. Whatever. She's back to being a liar. Whatever trust she had worked to regain with me is now being chipped away. And let me tell you, it wasn't much trust because she does not have a history of honesty.

FDH knew there would be consequences with the school for SD not doing her work and logging on. He missed a call from them yesterday and called back this morning. They are very concerned about her absences. The policy at the school is to make a note in a student's account every time they are "missing" for three days - not logging on or submitting assignments. And then, once a student has 10 of these notes, they are expelled from the program. There will be no repeating 8th grade through cyber school, SD will then have to go to a brick and mortar school to repeat the 8th grade. So she's looking at getting kicked out of school and having to go back to a brick and mortar school if she doesn't shape up. However, the school did her a MAJOR favor, knowing her situation, and has not been logging these absences. But, that's going to stop. They're going to be logging them from here on out. And she's really lucky. Because between December and this month, she would easily have 10 notes right now.

FDH had to call SD after this and tell her what her situation is, so she understands the severity of her lack of performance. She freaked the hell out when he started asking why she didn't do any work this week and had a breakdown on the phone with him and kept cutting him off trying to explain just how sick she was this week to him. So, he had to calm her ass down before he could tell her that she's facing expulsion. We're both tired of the lying. We're both tired of having to clean up GUBM's mess with SD. And we're both completely over SD's lack of responsibility. SD is better than all of this bullshit.

I'm not sure what FDH is going to do because he was angry, agitated, and stressed out and sleep deprived (he worked last night) so I told him to go try to sleep and that we could talk about it later when he has had a chance to relax, sleep, recharge, and calm down. Like, he was pissed and it took every ounce of strength he had to not scream at SD on the phone for lying to him and for acting like her POS mother (which I'm proud of him for not screaming or bringing her mother into the conversation). We tentatively discussed things the other day, though, when we knew this conversation was coming. So, I think we might stick with that plan, which is to have SD out here until the end of the school year and for next school year, with her visiting GUBM during summer and school breaks. Only, unlike what FDH got, she actually WILL visit GUBM during school breaks, because FDH would go file a CO with our local courts outlining all of this. Because this, this is just bullshit. I'll update when I have more of an idea of what we're going to do because CLEARLY SD deserves a better household than the one she's currently in at this very moment.
