I just received a call on my Limited Minutes cell phone, followed by several text messages.

Turns out a friend gave my phone number to an old high school friend.

HS ended 35 years ago. If I'd wanted to stay in touch with this person, I would have.
This is NOT someone with whom I want to be in contact!
I have a sneaky, VIOLENT STALKER in my past. You ASSume this person is who they say they are.
You do NOT freaking give out someone's phone number without ASKING IF IT'S OKAY!!!

Trying to cool off before I contact FRIEND and give them "what for". I am SO seeing red right now!

Any time someone asks me for a friend or family member's phone number, I respond, "Give me your number and I will pass it along to them then they can call if they wish."

I think it is very disrespectful to even assume it is okay to do this let alone do it. I would be upset about this. You may try to calm down and stop seeing red before you make the phone call. But you should let this person know how angry you are about this.

Oh my God, I would be livid and am livid for you.

Years ago, one of my SIL's gave out our UNLISTED home number to someone as a contact number for her, which DH told her NOT to. I was so pissed, I called her up and went off. I paid for my number to be unlisted for a reason, bitch.
