OT - Blog vs Forum Topic, and Finding Your Stuff
I've been asked to repost this blog, so here you go. If something has changed, please let me know and I will correct this.
BLOGS vs FORUM TOPICS
- Blogs can be deleted by the OP and Admin.
- Forum Topics can only be deleted by Admin, If you want your Forum topic deleted, you must request this from Admin.
- Blog comments can be deleted by the OP and Admin.
- Forum Topic comments can only be deleted by Admin. You have the option to EDIT your comment in Blogs AND Forum Topics.
NOTE: There is a 'cascade effect' when comments are deleted. All comments attached to the deleted comment will also be deleted.
- Blogs can be set up as OPEN (Users with the "Post comments" permission can post comments) or CLOSED (NO users can post comments).
- Forum Topics always allow comments.
- Blogs can be Tagged (Tags help others find your post when you "tag" the blog with terms relevant to the content. IE: 'Forn Friday').
- Forum Topics do not have a tag option.
Finding Blogs. You can easily find all of your Blogs in your Account. Click on My Account (at the top). Under the View tab, scroll down to History and click on View recent blog entries. The blogs appear with the most recent one first. Scroll to the bottom of the screen to page through your blogs.
Finding Forum Topics. It takes a little bit of work to find your Forum Topics and comments, but it IS possible. (See HOW TO FIND YOUR COMMENTS below.)
FINDING YOUR STUFF
Upper-right tabs in red:
MY ACCOUNT (Your 10 most recent Blogs and 10 most recent Forum Topics are listed on the right.
- VIEW - your basic infor, View recent blog entries (takes you to YOUR blogs), Send this user a private message (click to send a message)
- BOOKMARKS - any blogs or forum topics that you have bookmarked (a quick way to find things you want to follow)
- EDIT - where you can edit Account and main Profile info
- ACCOUNT - your email address, password, upload a profile pic, set Comment Access settings, control private messages, set your time zone
- MAIN PROFILE - your country, State/Province, Biography about you and your situation (not mandatory)
RELATIONSHIPS
- CURRENT - your current STalk friends - oldest listed first (also where you can remove people from your friend list)
- RECEIVED REQUESTS - any friend requests you have received, but have not yet accepted/rejected
- SENT REQUESTS - Friend requests you have sent to other users which have not yet been accepted/rejected
- FRIENDS - your STalk friends - oldest listed first (also where you can remove people from your friend list)
- ST_ADMIN - only for STalk ADMIN members (probably not you)
MESSAGES
- MESSAGES - Your messages listed newest first, write a new message, delete selected messages, mark messages as Read or Unread.
- NOTE: If you mark a message as Unread, it will mark the ENTIRE message as unread. IOW, you will need to go back to every page of the message for the system to recognize the message as Read (and mark it as such).
- BLOCKED USERS - Users who are blocked from messaging you.
MY RELATIONSHIPS
- CURRENT - your current STalk friends - oldest listed first (also where you can remove people from your friend list)
- RECEIVED REQUESTS - any friend requests you have received, but have not yet accepted/rejected
- SENT REQUESTS - Friend requests you have sent to other users which have not yet been accepted/rejected

HOW TO FIND YOUR COMMENTS
If you type your user name up in the search bar and click GO!, it will show lists.
- Filter by content type shows the number of Blog entries and Forum topics on which you have commented.
- Filter by post date shows posts by the years and your number of comments. Click on the year to show a more detailed breakdown: including Content Type, Post Date, and Author (these will breakdown further into Blog/Forum; Days, dates of the Author's posts, etc.)
- Filter by author shows the author of the posts on which you commented (and how many). Click on the author to show a more detailed breakdown.
- Filter by forums shows the 3 main Forums (General, Parenting, Legal or Court System) in which you have commented. Click on one of the trhee Forums to show a more detailed breakdown of those Forums, including year and author (these will breakdown further when selected)
- Filter by tags shows the tags of the Blogs on which you have commented. Click on a tag to show a more detailed breakdown (including date and author).
