A little backstory.... My SD20 has a baby who just turned one. (Side note: I am SOOOOOO not old enough to be a grandmother, step or not!) My DH has been working every freaking weekend all summer. And my SD17 got pregnant, BM bribed her into moving "home" by allowing Baby Daddy to move in as well, and then BM kicked them both out so now she's living with Baby Daddy and his grandmother.

So, SGS1 just had a birthday and SD20 had a birthday party for him. DH decided that if he wasn't required to work that weekend (which he wasn't, thank goodness!) that we were going to get away because we both needed the break. SD20 seemed fine with it, and in fact we're having our own little birthday party for the baby this weekend at our house.

DH told me yesterday that BM told SD20 that the real reason we didn't come to the party is because of her.

Me: *blink* Huh?
DH: Yeah, she said we wouldn't go because we didn't want to start a huge fight with her at the kid's party.
Me: *blink* What on earth are you on about? Why would we start a fight?
DH: Because of what went down with SD17.
Me: Uh... OK.

Good lord. Self absorbed much??? I hadn't even stopped to wonder if she'd be there or not, I certainly don't give her enough room in my head to affect my decisions like that!
