I totally agree with her! I can't stand attachment parenting, helicopter moms etc etc, I find those parenting styles quite sickening!

this article is dead on!! I was just talking to my SO this morning about how bm is not doing any favors for sd14 by treating her like a baby.

I was JUST talking to DH about this today after we dropped off his "special little snowflakes" at BM's house, where they definitely never have to lift a finger or do ANYTHING for themselves. We got to talking about it primarily because BM is a total rescuer 24/7, and that's why the skids are all jacked-up. What's worse is that HER mom is a total rescuer, and BM has never had to learn how to cope with the real world all that much because HER mom has always protected her from all the "bad things." This woman just turned 43 and has the coping skills of a 5 year old. Anyway, I was telling him that to me this new generation of parents who do everything for their kids and never let them experience failure or hurt is basically breeding tomorrow's workforce that NO ONE will want to hire or keep around because they will have no work ethic and will think the entire world should revolve around them.
