Another fight...
I've got a SD (18 years old) who is kicked out of her mothers ace and is living with us permanently.
We've had issues with her all along and I got fed up doing things for her as she does not respect me at all. Mother's Day, my birthday means nothing to her. I was hurt and told DH but he just got angry and said I was overreacting.
She has posted my BS throwing a tantrum on Facebook. He's only 10.
Was shocked but no consequences for her. Since then I've lost her trust completely. I think I've been nice to her and do a little more than her BM. But now it got to a point where I've lost may patience and started disengaging.
Now my DH is complaining my relationship with her and told me to act like an adult . He is sick of seeing us not getting along. Why is it always me the one who has to compromise. I think I've done a fair bit of my share.
Well, legally she's an adult.
Well, legally she's an adult. Is she done with high school? If so, she needs to go. If your DH isn't on board, disengage. Do NOTHING for her. Have no expectations.
If her own mother couldn't even put up with her, why should you be expected to?
You must act like an
You must act like an adult?Excuse me but does your DH think she is 8 rather than 18?!!Next time she acts like a cow record it & put her on FB & see how she likes it!
I get the same thing...I need
I get the same thing...I need to try to have a relationship with SD14. Um, her behavior got her kicked out of BM's house, she shows me nothing but disrespect, she gets away with murder because DH will not discipline her in any way, but I'm supposed to play all nice and act like she isn't the spoiled brat she is? I'm supposed to let her walk all over me? Sorry, I don't have rug written across my forehead!
I always get told that I don't treat SD14 like I treat my own kids. DH should see that as a good thing, because if whenever my own kids tried to cop the kind of attitude she gets away with, they were quickly put in their place. My daughter ONCE tried to raise her voice at me and get in my face, she got smacked for it, and didn't do it again. SD14 yells at DH all the time, and he just sits there and continues to talk calmly to her like she is 2 having a tantrum!
