COVID-19 and School Closure

horseygirl's picture

Hi All,

It is incredibly selfish to bring a pandemic into "my" issues since we remain unaffected, but the governor just closed schools indefinitely!!!! So, while I continue to drive to work every day, my SS (nearly 17) gets to sit at home and d*ck off all day long. How do you even begin to cope with the evolving changes, let alone this?

This has me crying at my desk. I need to find an alternative place to live, but that is far from easy.

Well, around here they are supposed to be doing work that's provided online.  But sorry things are so hard for you.

Our schools are closed until the end of the month (the closure will probably be extended) and the kids are all working online. Lessons happen at the same time as they would normally and the kids don't have the time to sit around getting bored.

Why not leave him a list of chores to do every day - get his father onboard with that.

My Skid is isolated on a different continent.  Fortunately the USAF is managing his health and social interaction.

The horror.  I'm sorry you're having to deal with this, as are scores of other steps right now.  I wish you peace, which may well be another place to live.  (Hugs)
