Change of Custody - Disruptive Behavior Disorder

Forums:

SD11 has been asking to live with DH and I for about a year. BM refuses to discuss it all.

In 2010, we got court ordered counseling for SD11 because we were worried about SD's behavior. (Tried discussing that with BM as well, but she refused). Since she's been going to her counselor for 8 months, she's been diagnosed with having disruptive behavior disorder NOS. We were wondering if this could possibly help our case when we attempt to change the custody order.

Has anyone else dealt with anything similar?

disruptive behavior is now a "disorder" good lord when will it stop? I can't wait for BDPBM(Beating Down Psychotic Bio Mom) to become a disorder, I'll be the first to be diagnosed.

sorry not trying to make light of your personal situation but all of these disorders are beyond ridiculous to me, why can't people take responsibility for bad parenting and lack of parenting???

In answer to your question, not sure it will help your case, as BM may fight that SD needs stability, not uprooting and most likely will focus the blame of her disorder on anything but her.

Seriously this a real disorder recognized by the AMA??? This just sounds like PIA. My SD14 definitely has this one....
