This is kind of difficult to explain, but... I've noticed that wives of my SO's friends give off a certain vibe, as if they're projecting their own marriage insecurities onto me. Like they're worried their husbands might get "ideas" by seeing SO so much happier with me than he was with BM. I've had SO's guy friends compliment me on being a great hostess and cook, keeping a tidy home, etc. with the implication that BM was not. I can tell their wives cannot STAND it! This tends to happen most often with the wives that are middle-aged or older, not so much with the ones in their late 20s/early 30s.

Also, with a couple of SO's other guy friends, I sense that they are supremely envious that SO is with a younger woman. They throw in jabs about our age gap, or deliberately bring up BM in conversation. I struggle to keep myself from saying, "You're just jealous!"

Has anyone else noticed anything like this?
