Random Acts of Kindness
Forums:
I was finishing some commissioned work for a client to gift his daughter, and I realized what a kind, caring father he was. So very different from my own. I decided that I would not accept payment, it would be given gratis. With a smile on my face and a smile in my heart and soul. It felt so good. I told my husband what I planned to do/did. I told no one else. I am telling you all here because I want to share my joy. So...thank you for listening.
Maybe you have some 'joy' to share with others? A random act of kindness that you performed or witnessed? Please, I would love to hear about it!
I'm so pleased and happy for you Trudie.
Enjoy the gift you are blessing that dad and his SS with.
Random acts of kindness are an incredible way to bless the lives of others. And return blessings on ourselves. Though that is certainly not the goal.
Take care of you.
I love good stories, special
I love good stories, special moments of happiness and kindness. I crave them. I almost have one. We are facing a scary health crisis here. My Mr is facing a couple of managable things but alongside one very very frightening thing, possibly. Further testing Monday. So my moment of kindness?
I have two. One the neighbors who came over last week and helped me chop shovel our way out of the driveway. We are waving neighbors. Not close, they are very private as are we. But Grandpa and grandson both came over and helped me chop through the ice to get to the snow to shovel us out in case we needed to leave. And the next morning, after more snow? I heard a noise and there was the grandson (age 16) by himself, clearing away our snow. I doubt they understand how much it meant but I hope they do.
And, we are huge baseball folks. We are season seat holder for a minor league team. We've done it since 2016. Those people in our section, they are family now. And at a time when other friends are distant, they have shown so much love not just forus but for each other.
We are blessed
I paid for a woman's animal
I paid for a woman's animal to be euthanized at the vet once... she was up at the desk making payment arrangements.. and i couldn't imagine her having to relive the day every time she was going to have to send in a payment.
Oh my god, you are an angel.

I have found that sometimes
I have found that sometimes even the smallest gestures toward a stranger make such a big difference. As they say, we don't know what people are going through; it doesn't hurt (in fact, it does the opposite) to be kind, notice people, smile, engage in a little conversation, help someone put groceries in their car, give them an extra bag at the store so they don't have to pay for one, give a gift.
I was driving home when I saw
I was driving home when I saw an elderly woman walking along the side of the (small country) road going in the other direction.
So I turned around as soon as I could and stopped beside her, rolled down the window and asked if she would allow me to drive her to her destination. She tried to refuse, telling me that she didn't want to put me out of my way. I lied and said I was going to visit friends and to just GET IN. Turns out she'd had paperwork to be done in our village, her son had dropped her off , and she decided to just walk home rather than call him to come and fetch her. Only she was in her 80s, it was 100 F with little shade, and she still had 6 miles to walk and no water...
About 2 miles in she started to realize what a daft trek she had embarked upon and began worrying about what her son would say. When I dropped her off, I made her promise to never attempt anything like, that again.
I Use My Craft
I'm a quilter. I recently saw, via Social Media, a non-profit community group desperately seeking funds to help the poor in our area. I offered one of my art quilts - very specific to our area - to use for a raffle. It raised $880. Those monies were used to house a family of 7 found living in their car...until they got them into a "real" home. They moved into their new home this week.
I love that something I made helped my community.
Wow- that is amazing! What a lovely thing to do!
