The difference between not saying something if you can't be nice and ignoring someone disrespectfully
Forums:
What do you think that difference is? Because it seems like a lot of sks could use the excuse "I had nothing nice to say" when asked why they didn't acknowledge us.
I guess for me, the difference is that if I have nothing nice to say to someone I won't initiate a conversation with them. But if they talk to me, I will say nice things to them even if it is making chit chat about how nice it is outside.
"Saying "hello, how are you?"
"Saying "hello, how are you?" and generally being pleasant and not rude is what the skids need to be taught is expected of them in those situations."
Agreed.
Hello. Goodbye. Please.
Hello. Goodbye. Please. Thank you.
If you have "nothing nice to say" then at a minimum you say those things.
My SD completely ignores
My SD completely ignores me...no acknowledgement to my existance unless she needs money or needs me to drop her off somewhere. She doesn't talk to me unless its in third person I guess is what you would call it...Funny thing is that I have never said a word out of the way to her but I completely ignore her for the way she treats me and others. DH never says a word to her. He acts like she is the most sweet, lovely person there is. Often DH or MIL comment on how polite and well behaved she is...wtf...this is the rudest most illmannered kid on the planet. How can they be so blind or dillusional whatever the case may be.
