Developmental Milestone Chart

Can anyone give me a link to a developmental milestone chart for average kids then for kids with learning disabilities/down syndrome?

My step-son 12 years old who has POSSIBLY a learning disability, acts like a baby and dad gives excuse after excuse as one of the main ones being "he has a learning disability" and says he's not mentally 12.

The child cannot turn on shower water by himself, doesn't tie his shoes, does not make simple snacks, has no chores. And again dad always makes excuses why it's ok he doesn't do any of these things. Dad also goes in the bathroom when 12 year old is done in the shower because the 12 year old calls him in and yes he is naked. Isn't there an age where parents are supposed to make sure their kids have shame? The kid even sleeps in his white briefs and walks around the house, which IMO is not appropriate. What do you guys think?

I didn't think it was normal, dad is holding his child back. Dad doesn't even realize this. I wanted a chart to be able to show dad because my word isn't good enough.

^^^^THIS^^^^ There is only a chart for "normal," there is no chart for "abnormal." That is how you know someone doesn't meet "normal."

I'm wondering if the dad even knows what the kid's disabilities are. A "learning disability" means normal to above IQ, with delays in one or more areas, such as reading comprehension, dyslexia, etc. Kids like that can do EVERYTHING kids their age can do. You wouldn't even know that they had a LD.

It sounds like this child is "MR". Schools still use this term...mental retardation. He probably has a low IQ. It's possible his dad has figured out what he is/not capable of over the years, and you coming in brand new and seeing a 12 year old body incapable of doing things you think it should, is due to your inexperience with the boy. Or...the father is off his rocker.
