Covid-19 & Staying Home

soundthe's picture

Evening all

SO has SS for a week in May, we were due to go away...thanks COV-19, but SS is still coming to ours for the week. BM has said that in her now free week, she'll be staying with a vulnerable friend, running errands, cooking dinner.

SO has made his stance clear and said that if she decides to do that, we will hold onto SS for 14 days from her return to ensure that he doesn't pick anything up that she may contract in her free week. She has also told SO that she is in the high risk category to contract the virus...!

Reasonable? Unreasonable? Would love your input! TIA

SInce we are on lockdown, SS should just stay with his mom.  No need to expose him or you to risk.

End of discussion IMHO.

Unless the sequester has been lifted. In which case, send SS back on time. Let BM modify her schedue accordingly.

It's illegal. If BM takes it to court, your SO will lose. He can't demand BM behave a certain way to suit him, all he can do is refuse to take SS. No matter how reasonable anyone thinks it is, the court is the one who decides changes in custody, even in a pandemic.
