Hi everyone, I'm a newbie here. My partner has a six year old daughter.

Her behaviour as of late has been confusing us both. I've known her for almost two years now, and she was always very loving and affectionate towards me. Over the past few months, her behaviour towards me has changed, as well as other members of the family.

When she is at our place, she tends to want to do everything with dad, and not so much me. Usually she wanted to play with me, ask me to help her with finding things, etc. Now, she won't hold my hand (she says, only one hand, daddy's hand), or just rarely wants much to do with me. She previously refused to talk to her grandparents as well.

She will show interest in what I'm doing, every now and then, or talk to me, but definitely doesn't have as much interest in me any more. What can I do? It hurts me, as well as my partner.

Have any of you been through this before? What can be done?
