Grrrrr

Just a quick vent. Why is it when my bd does something it is her signature move and when sd does the same thing it is clever??? Okay here goes. Yesterday bd was home alone for a bit and used the coffee grinder to powder sugar. Bd learned this trick from sd. When it first happened and I was grumpy about it dh says "oh, that's clever." So when dh comes home and there is sugar in the grinder he asks my bd about it and she admits that she did it.

Then he makes a comment. Not rude, just a comment about it being her signature move. I said well sd was the one who came up with that. He says "oh." I did not say anything but I remember when it first happened and he said that it was clever.

I hate this bias. I was going to say something to him but bd was not upset by it and I felt that it was not worth arguing about.

it's always some little something isn't it?

When it's a question of behavior, good or bad, clever or not, there's always going to be that bias between bio's and step's isn't there?
It's unfortunate, but there's too many people in the mix to break down that barrier.

I just want equal treatment. I hate making issues about every little thing but I hate it when I feel that bd is treated differently. I mean if it is not okay for one to do it then I don't think that it should be okay for anyone to do it. I was grumpy because it was done not because of who did it. Sometimes it just makes me tired.
I am actually pretty easy to get along with and all of the chaos gets to me.

I have most recently been most frustrated by the whole situation her with the SK's. Equal treatment would be WONDERFUL and I think with the invisible walls that are put up, doesn't allow "equal treatment" to penetrate. I'm glad we can all come here and vent at least because otherwise I believe we would all be fantasizing about throttling the ones we so dearly love
I think the DH's get a bug up their hineys and believe they know our "motives".....that we're the ones picking on these SK's.

I just said the same thing to MIL....that I used to be a happier person but all this drama and chaos is getting to me!
