Dirty SD, want to shake BM
So, SO daughter, 3, came over yesterday for our usual Sunday visitation.....I'm concerned. Her and I do not see eye to eye, in fact there have been a lot of difficulties with this child, but none the less she is a child and I don't think she should ever be neglected or poorly taken care of. This wasn't our weekend to have her. She has been diagnosed with a skin issue and we have been to a specialist that has given us medication and specific instructions, which SO is awesome (for being a guy) at following the instructions and it's pretty cute that he won't let me help, he wants to be 100% responsible for it, which I think is awesome. Anyway.....sunday he picks her up, her clothes are dirty and her shorts unzipped, her hair is greasy (the meds do make it that way so i can kinda understand that part)her toenails are totally gross and dirty and broken, her fingernails are dirty, her ears were so built up with dirt and wax that SO had to carefully clean them with q-tips and the amount of dirt (not wax) was awful oh and she had just rolled out of bed at 11:30! To top it all off she was covered in mesquito bites that had been picked at and were infected. So, i take her to the bathroom, change her clothes, pull her hair back off of her face and her dad cleans her ears and nails and we put medicine on the bites and BM has a cold which i could clearly see now SD is getting. AGH!! Wtf? Okay so the hair i can look past, the mequito bites, i can deal with, everyone gets bit, i understand but this kid has at least 50 bites, including her face.....take her inside maybe, bug spray? Okay fine, we'll do meds after her nightly bath since we get her every evening during the week. But the nails, the dirty clothes, food on the face come on, really? Am i overreacting? It's really sad, it looked like BM ran her ragged all weekend and didn't actually "care" for her as far as bathing or regular hygiene. Her big thing is to be the "more fun" parent, its kinda like she didn't give a crap about anything else. As much as SD sometimes drives me to the brink of insanity with the crap she pulls, she's still a child and doesn't deserve to have that stuff happen to her. Yes, I'm venting, I want to scream at BM. Does anyone else have this issue and if so, how in the world do you handle it?????

Parenting classes should be required before any welfare or insurance company pays for the birth of the first kid.

Yes, west nile is a problem and those outbreaks are not far from our hometown. He could probably talk her into bug spray maybe......common sense, hell no.
Would it be rude for me to put it in her bag??
BM treats me like i'm an idiot bc i don't have any kids of my own......as far as she's concerned she's god at parenting bc she has one.

her BM is a dirty pig and is raising SD7 to be the same way. Whenever she gets here, she is "starving". Starting to wonder where the CS is going. Dirty nails, dirty butt. She even had an infection in her privates a while back. That's when DH got pissed! Let BM have it, I wish i had been there to hear it, LOL! She don't stink today. Then again, she hasn't gotten that close to me since she's been here
