Today I started a new job. 40 hrs a week from 830-5 Monday thru Friday. Today I hated it! It's seems like alot of work and I'm being rushed in training because the person before me is quitting soon. Now I feel like I am stuck because they won't have tine to hire and train a new person. I'm going to stay but does the 1 st day always suck?

It's alot more work then I was told, I thought it wouldn't be this needy and stressful. I can't quit because I know so many people there and it would hurt all of them in their jobs. I'm jus worried I have got myself into a mess that I won't be able to get out of :(!

I think you should stick it out. it might get better as you get used to doing what is part of the job. I think you should atleast give it a month and if your still not happy with it, maybe start looking for another one.

I've always hated my first day on the job-it always takes me a few weeks to get in the groove.

I've usually hated the first month or two. I think too it's not just about this one position, but where does it lead? Could this be a stepping stone to a much better position?

First day, first week, and yes first month can suck oh so badly...
Stick it out, it will get better...it just doesn't feel like it yet...but it will...and by then it will be payday and you can go and buy yourself a nice bottle of wine.....

Most of the hate comes from the insecurity of not knowing the job. Stick it out for at least 6 mos and reassess at that point. I've ALWAYS kept a bottle of excedrin for migraines on the first two weeks of the job while training.

Enjoy your Lunch Hour. And plan a vacation. If that fails, check your bank balance on Friday, paycheck in the bank - that always a perk.

Work always suck unless you have a job doing something u love. I find that what makes it easier is the people in the office can make it better. And yes, i agree with steptwins, the paychecks and the vacations are worth it. Smile

most of my jobs, and I have had a few through temping - First day does suck but after a few weeks you will feel better. Just keep and eye out for something that suits you more before jumping ship Smile I have started a new job about a month ago and it has taken me 2 weeks to get in to the grove but now I'm loving it because they now know just how good I really am - lol }:)

Well in this day and age you are lucky to have a job..a little hard work never hurt anyone..I work approx 60hrs per week and then I work at home...so you wont get any sympathy from me...(just being honest not trying to be rude to you)..z
