BM wanting to be friends??

ES's picture

So, the BM who is a b@# from hell and who had tried to destroy my husband during their divorce back in the day, just got divorced from her second husband, bought a boat and invited us to go out on it with her!!! WTF???!!!!

So, it would be the BM, SD, my husband and I, one big happy family. Are you f##$ kidding me??? I think the world is coming to an end. So, my DH who hates any interaction with the BM has been avoiding calling her back with the answer to the invite...So now my SD came up to me this morning asking me if we were going...I told her the truth - that I don't feel comfortable with this.

She was surprised...I know she is only 16 but she is very smart. How could she possibly be surprised that this situation would not feel comfortable for me???? She asked me - you are uncomfortable going on the boat? I said no, the boat is not the issue, it's the boat with my husband's ex and you because you and I haven't had a relationship in a month (the whole disengagement thing). I told her my dh was welcome to go but I was not going.

Seriously, WTF????!!!!!

ES... BMs at least in my case can be so confusing,, I wouldn't trust this, and I definitely would not be going and neither would my DH.. After all the hurt our BM has caused not just to me but to my DH, we would not trust her motives...

I agree, I don't trust her at all. And I know DH will not go, I just said that to my SD so that she wouldn't think I am trying to control her father. DH can't stand the BM.

Well, all I know is the BM's side of the story that she told SD, so I take that with a LARGE grain of salt...but it seems like it's been a loveless marriage for a long time but BM was not dealing with it because she was taking care of her father. Her father passed away recently, so she said she was fed up with the whole thing and was ready to move on which I can see.

Check this out - she is dating the same guy now (a week after the divorce)she was cheating on my husband with back when they were married! Oh, drama...There is so much more there but I am too lazy to type it all out right now :)So, of course she was with that guy way before the divorce, I think that's pretty obvious.

ANyway, I agree with you that SD should see us as a united front and usually she does but I messed up with this one. I shouldn't have told her that DH can go, that was stupid. I should have said we are not going because I don't feel comfortable. Period. I was not prepared for this one! Smile

Totally don't go - and don't let DH go either - she's gonna kill you both and push your bodies off the boat into the water!!!! J/K

I had a similar situation where BM invited me to a pampered chef party because she wanted the free gifts and needed more people to come to the party because she has no friends! HA HA....

"she's gonna kill you both and push your bodies off the boat into the water!!!! "

}:) YEAH, that was my first thought too. It's a trap; a situation begging for awful drama, and psycho mind-f**k.

We've done things like this, at BM's urging... and I gotta tell ya --- ultimately --- it's a f*cking mess!!! She used to email me and want to hang out, and go out and stuff, and I was nice and would decline --- politely, "No thank you, we have plans, etc." She kept on and kept on, and we developed an email relationship... and frankly, looking back 6 years later and no longer speaking to eachotehr --- it was a way to keep in my/our business and I was extremely NAIVE to respond at all....

The best revenge is a good life... And to have a SC to go home and REPORT to BM all about it Wink
