Oh, Medusa - OR - she who tries to avoid service rarely succeeds.....

Just got this email forwarded to me by Perfect Paralegal. It's from the process server:

PP,
I made an attempt yesterday afternoon to serve def. @ her store, there was a woman operating the register, speaking with a vendor/client acting as owner & resembling your def. from the photo. When I greeted her as “Medusa” she denied being her stating she is Medusa’s partner & asked the nature of my business. I stated I needed to see Medusa & she replied “she is gone until next Monday but I have every ability to address matters regarding this business”. I declined to discuss the matter with her, asked for Medusa’s personal ph. number, thanked her & left without revealing my name or stating my intentions. Do you know where def. may be? If she is merely on a “stay-cation” then a home address may assist in obtaining prompter service... or I can hold until after Monday & make another discreet attempt.
Please review all & advise how you wish me to proceed.

I responded with the following - it was totally her and the snotty comment proves it. I also provided information on her vehicles and the address of the commercial building where she claims she is living because she's just so poor, said building being at the tail end of a foreclosure. She is currently using a PO Box for her address, so no help there. I also provided her mom's address, just in case she's hiding out there.

I will call the store when it opens - Medusa always answers the phone and her voice is branded into my ears, so if she answers, I will call Process Server dude and he will head over and serve her.

WHEN is that woman going to realize that I am ALWAYS at least two steps ahead of her???

She used to own two

She used to own two commercial buildings - DH gave everything to her in the divorce because he wanted out. Just before she filed for bankruptcy, she sold one and claimed that she was living in the other. The other building had bathrooms, but not a shower and I never thought for one minute that she was living there.

She cried all poor mouth at the hearing last year when her child support went up once I found out her actual income and requested a support review.

The second commercial building is in the redemption phase right now and I doubt she will redeem it. My guess is that she figured that Process Server Dude was related to the commercial building and that's why she denied being herself.

It's not like she is going to respond to the discovery requests. I know that Awesome Attorney is going to have to file a motion to compel before we see one response from her and even then, she won't turn over what she is supposed to.
