13 Days of Bliss & Dis-Appearing Clothes
As of this morning the skids will be with BM for 13 wonderful days! Skid free-dom!
But of course BM had to get one last demand in before her vaca with the boys. As she's getting married, she requested their suits via text to DH last night. The suits that DH and I bought for the boys because she can't keep track of anything.
So this morning over $400 in dress clothes walked out the door. DH threaten the skids that if the clothes went missing or came back trashed that they'd be responsible for the cost of replacement. Like they care, they're teenagers (18 & 13).
And since she's having a destination wedding, I'm pretty sure something will get lost.
I'm so over it.

I told DH great here are the ties. DH texted her SS18 will bring the ties. BM texted back - Oh I meant the suits too. Then DH was like :O . I told him this is why you shouldn't agree to things when we at a skid event. BM should be told this is not the time or place, lets discuss at a later date.

why do you need to keep dress
why do you need to keep dress clothes for the kids? If they get lost or damaged, oh well. They no longer have them.
The 18 year old can damn well buy himself a new suit when he needs one. The 13, why does a 13 year old need a suit?
So you'd be OK with your DH
:? So you'd be OK with your DH running out and blowing $400.00 on clothes for skids to wear to BMs wedding and then never seeing said clothes again?
"Skids already have suits
"Skids already have suits that OP purchased for some previous event." > Exactly.
Now, it will be on the skids and BM to replace any lost or damaged clothes.

We have dress clothes for the skids because we dress up for the holidays and special occasions like DH's parents 50th wedding anniversary, SS18's HS graduation, SS13's band concerts etc.
The boys are getting older and it's not as easy to have them attend more formal events in casual clothes.
It was easier for DH and I to just buy the suits ourselves instead of asking (more like begging) BM for them. We used to do that and the clothes would come to us at the last minute stained and wrinkled up in a bag, it was such a hassle.
BM saw the suits because we had the boys over the weekend SS18 graduated and we were dressed up for the event.
Edited to Add:
It's not that I don't want the boys to wear their suits. It's just that BM is not organized and her standards of cleanliness are lower than ours. It is disappointing to me to send the boys off looking good and them coming back looking like crap because BM doesn't care.
Oh and YES SS18 could buy his own suit - but realistically that's not going to happen.

I think its weird that BM
I think its weird that BM would want the skids to wear our clothes at her wedding.
When DH and I got married I didn't ask BM for any skid dress clothes, we bought our own. I didn't want BM deciding what the skids should wear to my wedding. Why BM is okay with me choosing the clothes the Skids wear to her wedding is beyond me.

Meh. Boy's suits all pretty
Meh. Boy's suits all pretty much look the same to me, except maybe the color of the shirt. I wouldn't care if BM picked out suits. A girl's dress is more individualistic, I think I'd care more about that.
That's just tacky! Maybe you
That's just tacky!
Maybe you should have offered her your wedding dress too?
My boys had suits because
My boys had suits because their hockey teams required them to be "dressed" when they arrived at games. They out grew them so fast I was happy for any occasion that they might get some more wear out of them.
This is interesting. I
This is interesting. I always assumed all parents made sure their kids (I know, I know)all kidd had dress clothes.
It's absolutely amazing that a woman would take the time to plan her wedding/honeymoon, but not think to include her children's attire the planning.

But is it? come on now Disney! A lot of these skids are nothing more than an inconvenient paycheck for these skanks.

My sentiments exactly!
