Is It THAT hard?!
SD6 is here, she STILL has lice. Just fucking shoot me. Last visit we bought the medication, we picked and combed and picked and combed. She was louse-free but still had some nits. All BM had to do was keep combing and re-treat in 7 days. We even sent the MF medication home with her!
I get it, lice are hard to get rid of. it can take awhile, but JHC if you haven't gotten rid of them open your motherfucking mouth and say so! This is on SO too, I told him to check her, I TOLD him to check her at pick up before he came back home with her. Did he? NO.
"Ohh, she met me near SD8s to make my life easier, I didn't do it... I didn't think she'd still have it."
I'm sorry, what? I TOLD YOU she would likely still have it because BM2 is a useless shit for brains. She's not outright evil lime BM1 but she's STUPID, and lazy... there was no way in hell she was going to sit down and comb SD6's hair thoroughly for 7 days straight.
I'm so angry with SO right now, and BM2... but mostly SO. This is his fault.

LOL! BM has lived with a
LOL! BM has lived with a pedophile, SD6 never recieved the FREE therapies she was supposed to get as a toddler, and BM didn't bother to even consider a therapist until SDs school suggested sending the kid to inpatient care. One little case of lice isn't going to tip the scales after a pedophile didn't.
He was checking so that he
He was checking so that he could just leave her ass home for the weekend. That would be the difference. Because unless it inconveniences BM she won't deal with it. And her hubby not getting his break from psycho SD would be a problem in their house.
No, not that I know of, it will stay on her scalp, but she's 6 and BS is 5 and our apartment is rugs everywhere. Kids roll on the floor. Unless I sequester her off into a room all alone all weekend I can't guarantee my kid won't have lice. Which means ANOTHER week of checking him daily before school. And if he gets it it means him missing school and me missing work.
Lice don't live off a head
Lice don't live off a head for more than 2 days. So by the time SD6 goes back home BMs house is louse-free unless her other kids have it. I don't think we can just keep her though, the cops would likely arrest SO for kidnapping.
Unless everything I've read
Unless everything I've read is wrong that won't help. Nits are within 1-2" from the scalp. We're just going to have to treat her again.
Hmm, I'll suggest it.. can't
Hmm, I'll suggest it.. can't hurt to make it easier!
Lice treatments don't do much
Lice treatments don't do much good if she keeps returning to the source. The worst part is when the source continually lies about being in contact or denies having lice.
So glad SGC no longer bring that problem to our house. Dh seemed to think that simply asking if they still had lice was going to produce an honest answer. Honest answer from the kids that are scratching their heads or the parents....not likely.
The year sgd lived with us was the worst. Plenty of other major catastrophes were happening in our life at that time. The continuous lice problem was the last thing I wanted to deal with. Five times she was pulled out of school, I ended up with it, my grown daughters, all my grandchildren, every relative who gathered for my mom's end of life care at home and funeral.
Dh's ex family knew they all had lice but none of them mentioned it. When confronted with finding lice in every stage in sgc's hair, their claim was " they used to have it" Dh would bring sgc to the house and apparently they must have picked up all stages of lice on their ride over, because after all they kept telling Dh they did not have it.
I spent hundreds of dollars shampooing their hair with the treatments. Since I never had all of them together at the same time itjust became a problem of always passing it back and forth.
Gosh, I think my blood pressure went up just thinking about lice. It's been 10 years ago.
you would have to cut it
you would have to cut it yourself if you know how if you decide to get her hair cut, salons wont with lice. re treat her with medicated shampoo or i even heard mayonaise works better, then put some tea tree oil in her shampoo and send some of the shampoo home with her. lice hate tea tree oil. i put it in all my kids shampoos and never had a problem with it. problem is unless BM treats her house it still could happen. this is thescond time she came with them.... Document both times ( didnt the school note it aswell). if she come back the next time with them then call CPS on BM. If she doesnt do everything needed like bag up stuff animals and wash all bed close, treat carpets...that could be considered neglect.
That really sucks on so many
That really sucks on so many levels. When my son got it at school the nurse told us about this stuff called blue ice or something. It's non toxic and basically smothers them. She told me to just throw all the pillows and stuff in the dryer in high. It killed them all.
I know it won't help long term but those trucks really lightened my yuck factor when he had it. Plus I didn't have to get noxious chemicals ony hands or comb for damn lice. Good luck!
Definitely cut her hair, it
Definitely cut her hair, it makes it a lot easier to comb through. I did this with my SD once. Just give it the best cut you can, get rid of the lice, then take her to a salon and have them tidy it up.
I agree with what another poster said - after treating, add tea tree oil to their daily shampoo. Lice hate it and it helps keep them away.
Any bedding etc needs to be washed at 60ÂșC plus to get rid of the b*stards.
And I feel for you - lice are disgusting things (shudders).
ETA - also the whole family will need treating and it's best if you add the tea tree oil to everyone's shampoo for a while, just in case.
