o.t/ would you support sterilization at birth?
I came across this question when I was reading a news article but I cannot remember the name. But the question is would you support sterilization at birth and only having the right to conceive until after you hit a certain age at the least 18 and you have the means to support the child and are given a psychological test and have to take a mandatory parenting class? After you have successfully completed the requirements you are granted the right to reproduce if you reach a point after birth of changing your mind, becoming overwhelmed or hitting a financial downfall and you no longer feel you can take being a parent you have the right to give your child up for adoption without judgment or persecution.
I'm not asking if you think the government should have control or if this is taking away a human right. Everyone would still have that right but not the right to just have kids because they want one but to be fully ready for the responsibility both psychologically and financially. I personally would not bring a child into this world if I could not take care of it just because babies are cute and I want to be called mommy. I'm just asking your personal opinion.

I'd support it for the men
I'd support it for the men and women who keep having multiple kids with multiple people and convicted felons. I wouldn't support it for everyone, but I definitely would for people who shouldn't have kids.
I don't support that. I don't
I don't support that. I don't want the government telling me that me or my children have to have a physical operation & require permission to have children.
However, i would support a law sort of like the one child law in China here. IE you have more than 1 child, you pay a tax.
I think that would prevent a lot of this "having more babies for more CS/welfare"
also, a friend of mine at work who is from China told me there are basically no stepparents there because nobody marries anyone who already has a child. That means you can't have your own.
She said "baby mommas" & their drama are basically unheard of where she grew up.
That is awesome Queen! It
That is awesome Queen!
It still amazes me that you have to have a license to cut hair, but anyone can pop out kids they can not/will not take care of.
I think anyone who has a
I think anyone who has a child while unemployed or if married if neither is employed should be made to get on birth control, etc at a minimum. I also do not think that anyone should be given any type of tax credit for having children, much less additional welfare.
I think if someone applies
I think if someone applies for state aid sterilization should be mandatory in order to receive it. I think you give up the right to reproduce further when you want others to "help" raise the child. not liking the idea of sterilization at birth. what if something happens and that child is never able to conceive because of a botched sterilization? no, I like my idea better.
I only support sterilization
I only support sterilization for those who have aids. Its a horrible problem in Africa but they still keep having babies and passing it on.
No, I wouldn't support
No, I wouldn't support sterilization at birth, though I would certainly support mandatory parenting, nutrition, child development and interpersonal communications classes for all expecting and new parents.
