O/T Starlink internet service
Curious to know if anyone has Starlink for their internet service? It will be available in my area within the next 9 months. We are rural so any type of internet is expensiive and slow with limits. If all the information that I have read about it is true, it will be faster than anything available for a lot of people.

I have cable internet at my place now.. and it works pretty well.. but I did sign up for the service and paid my 99 dollar downpmt.. I think equipment is like 500 and then it is supposed to be 99/month.
If it works... it will be a good option for people in rural underserved areas. So many people take it for granted.. move a little outside of town and are stuck. All the work from home and home schooling has really shown how important it is to have good internet.
I also see promise in it working for other options.. like for people who want to live and travel on a boat or in an RV and need internet for their work.. and may want to go to areas without service.
I am looking forward to having Starlink
Right now, I have broadband and it's okay but very slow and has data limit caps, then I get throttled down to almost having the dial-up speed.
DH signed up for beta testing
DH signed up for beta testing. It won't be available in our area til later this year. We are on our second satellite provider. I loathe working from home because of the latency.

I am in WV, where its really rural and hard to get cheap internet. A lot of people are signing up. I work for the state in IT and many of our coworkers have signed up also and are waiting on equipment.
I hope it works for everyone!
Our area in Northern Ontario
Our area in Northern Ontario is excited for this too but I heard that it won't be here fully in place for the public for at least two years and the startup costs are high. I have also heard that the beta testing has had a lot of success here so far.
