OT Update on pushy friend
I didn't get pushed back so DH and I are heading to the hospital in about 2 hours. We dropped our dogs off with his brother and are going home to do laundry and have dinner. My friend has been bugging me all day and I just told her I needed rest.
She texted me and said that she will help me get ready to leave and to let her know when "we're heading out". I told her in the nicest way that we were going home to fold laundry and eat and that we have our tablet to watch our show and get some rest. I told her we'd keep her updated when the baby's coming and thanked her for her support. I got a "wow ok" text and nothing else.

She is a L&D nurse, right?

I honestly do not understand why she thinks it's ok for her to be doing this... surely she has encountered pushy people that "don't belong" but are still trying to force themselves on the parents/baby. For her to do it....well it just screams self importance to me.
Sorry you are dealing with this additional bs. Honestly, if she is going to be like that, well then you are REALLY getting a glimpse at who she really is. Toxic people can really fool you sometimes. This IS toxic behavior.
Anyway... best wishes for a smooth night! I will be praying for y'all.
Being my soft spoken self, I
Being my soft spoken self, I never told her not to take the time off but being her, she'd just insist anyway. And she has been so supportive and helpful this pregnancy. She really has. But this is something for DH and I to experience and especially being my first baby, she should be understanding. No other family has been invited and I don't know what she thinks she can do besides be supportive. I can only imagine she'll simply bug the crap out of her coworkers if nothing else.
Thank you for your well wishes. We're packed up and grabbing a quick dinner. I miss my dogs and can't wait to be home.
You owe her nothing. This is
You owe her nothing. This is time for you and your DH if that is the way you & DH prefer. I guess its time to be blunt DH & I prefer (insert your wishes). If she uses the I took off work excuse try...Sorry for the misunderstanding, I didnt know you were doing that.
Enjoy baby time and congrats!
I have a pushy friend too. She says things that are so inappropriate.
Her taking off work was not
Her taking off work was not solicited and I don't know why or what she thinks she's going to do to advocate for me. DH hates special treatment and doesn't want her there with how she's acting and calling this "her baby". I guarantee the baby won't be here by morning and when the action is happening, I will still let her know. If she decides not to come, we'll be fine.
The "her baby" thing is way
The "her baby" thing is way over the top. Don't make all this nonsense make you feel guilty.
I'm so happy for you. It's such an amazing feeling holding your baby for the first time, the immediate "love rush" is just unexplainable!
Hugs!
i wish for you to have a safe and easy labor. Let us know all about the tiny fingers and toes when you are ready.

Hope you were able to rest some last night. Being induced it normally not fun! Prayers for a smooth and quick delievery of you little one!
Don't worry about the friend. There are times in your life where you have to put your foot down and have your wishes respected. Giving birth is 100% one of those times.
She sounds a little psycho.

Why on earth is she being so pushy about YOUR baby?? She's not your sibling/mother/best friend.
Frankly, I would "forget" to text her in the excitement of giving birth. Possibly "forgetting" your phone at home in your rush to leave.
