Plans have been drawn, hired the contractor (original company that built my house). The whole idea of adding to the house to make room for all was a decent one. Until they got to the part of: Well it should only be about 4 months that you are out of your house. :O

Yes, apparently I have to move out to move up (add a second story). FDH had the lovely (insert sarcasm font here) idea of us all moving into his apartment while construction was going on. Two adults, three teenagers and a bunny in a three bedroom apartment that in all honesty, you could fit with room to spare in my living room, dining room. I think if we attempt to blend in an area that small within weeks we will be on each others nerves and at each others throats.

I had to do that because my house in the town I used to live in sold before my new house here was built. DH had a small 2 bedroom apartment and he INSISTED that I and my 2 kids move in there. Add to that the fact he had his two kids EVERY WEEKEND and you can imagine the chaos, especially during the winter.

If I had it to do all over again, I think I would have rented an apartment of my own for 4 months. Nothing worse than me and my two kids being made to feel like interlopers the entire time we lived there (by SK's and BM, who previously had had free reign to just waltz into the apartment whenever she dropped off the SK's).

Ugh.
